An Outdoor Fireplace

This fireplace is one that Dave and Joel built this past fall. Dave finally remembered to take the camera. Isn't it gorgeous?

The Fishermen

A favorite past time for this family. . . fishing. As you can see, Matthew has already learned the art of holding the big catch as close to the camera as possible to make it look even bigger! I also had to show you a picture of Matthew's excellent handling of his bow!

Gracie and Nellie

Gracie and Nellie took a break on a dreary day to relax in the dirt! Of course, she chose the day the water was turned off while Daddy installed a shower. It was quite awhile before she could clean up, but I think she had an ulterior motive . . . she was one of the first ones to use the new shower!

The Last Day of School

Everyone had a blast on the last day of school. Aaron had a balloon artist visit his preschool class and then he was able to join in the fun at the kid's school. Both Matt and Gracie, along with their classes, won their tug of war match!

Where Does the Time Go?

I am sorry it has been a while since I have posted anything once again. The weather has been so nice and there has been so much to do. We have been working on a garden. I have put quite a bit of labor into it already and we haven't even tilled it! I hope everything grows for me. We are also the proud owners of 17 chicks most of them are Rhode Island Reds. Some of you are probably shaking your heads, but the kids are loving it. It will be a learning experience for all of us. Dave will hopefully find time to build the coop this week. The chicks who all have been named, even though we can't tell the difference between any of them, are living very happily in a temporary shelter.

We had quite the scare last week. Dave hurt his back and was unable to work for three days. It makes one think about the what if's in life. Thankfully, he was able to go back to work today.

We have some great pictures to share, hopefully I can share them with you tomorrow. We have had some beautiful bucks at the feeder this last week. I can't tell you enough how much I love living in these Sandhills!

Well, I feel like I have written a book tonight so I will sign off. I will try to be more consistent and keep the posts a little shorter!! Have a great and glorious day!

A New Venture

I just wanted to share with you that I have started a new venture. Well, it is not actually new, since I did this many moons ago. I am a Tastefully Simple consultant again. A lot of things have changed in the last three years, for the better.

I had been praying about how I could help with the family income without being gone all of the time and Tastefully Simple kept coming to mind. For once, I did not act quickly and make a rash decision. I spent many weeks praying and thinking it over before I even mentioned it to Dave and when he gave me the go ahead I went. Abigail, Andrew's wife, is my sponsor, we should have fun.

I believe that there isn't a consultant within 50 miles ( I hope I am not wrong) so this is an open market. Also, I plan on getting a website. If there is anyone that would be interested in ordering they can do it online. I will let you know when it is up and going.

I am excited about this opportunity. If you would like more information, please call or email me. I did set up another email address just for Tastefully Simple correspondence it is kris.campbell at gmx dot com.

Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day!

A Sunny Sunday

It has been awhile since I have sat down to share with you. I am sorry about that! We have been very busy this weekend. The weather was crummy on Thursday and Friday, but today it is absolutely gorgeous outside. Matthew is out in a turkey blind with Papa and Pappy, one of the hunters that are visiting us this weekend. Dave is out with the other two hunters and Gracie and Aaron are still sleeping, so I am taking a few minutes to update our blog.

Since I last wrote we have had a tornado watch, another blizzard, rain, wind and snow. I am ready for winter to really be over. I would love to start planting but every time I think about buying some flowers, there is snow in the forecast! Soon, I hope, it will happen. Our yard needs some color!

Yesterday we celebrated Dave's grandpa Elmer's 90th birthday. He is such a wonderful man, still so full of life. Elmer and Toni have such a wonderful legacy. They combined two families to total nine children and they are such an amazing family. They were all here this weekend, even Dave's cousin's with the exception of two were here. There were about 60 of them total. It so much fun to be with them all. What a blessing to be a part of such a loving and caring family.

Well, I have a party to plan for this evening so I better get moving. We are having a Cinco de Mayo celebration at Common Ground this evening, I hope to have pictures to share tomorrow. Have a wonderful sunny day, well, I hope it is sunny where you are!

God Bless!
